Three years ago, I wrote the following post: Divorce American Style - It May Be The Future
At the time, I discussed the polarization, which was becoming extreme compared to when I lived there in the early 90s. Well, three years down the track, things are exponentially worse. The conviction of Donald Trump for a trivial matter and the constant drumbeat from the Biden administration about saving democracy while it erodes it has reached the point of irreconcilable differences.
Even if Trump wins the presidency, thinking things will change is an illusion. The right and left are so at odds with one another and positions so entrenched that it is a dysfunctional marriage.
The biggest problem is that the ideology promoted by the left is fed to children from the time they are in kindergarten right through primary and secondary education. If students do enter university, they are entering ideological hotbeds of Marxism and pro-Islamist propaganda. While accusations of Islamophobia and racism against blacks are continuously pushed, Jews are now fearing a return to the days of pre-war Germany, but this time in what was once a country that revered Jewish culture and its contribution to the science, arts and medicine.
The time has come to split along both geographic and ideological lines. Two distinct value systems are operating in America. There is a precedent for countries to split into various states. The most prominent example is the Soviet Union, which, with the downfall of communism, separated into 15 states: Ukraine, Georgia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are just a few of the newly created countries.
Break up of Yugoslavia
Then, Yugoslavia operated as a federation of several states with conflicted religious and ethnic backgrounds. Tito, the benevolent communist dictator, held Yugoslavia together for decades. He was seen as the most liberal of communist dictators, allowing its citizens to travel overseas.
After the breakup, there was a lot of turmoil between the states, with war and atrocities a feature in the 1990's. However, that settled down, and you now have independent nations such as Serbia, Croatia, Macedonia, Slovenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo, each with their own constitutions, and the people can determine their own future.
Break up of Czechoslovakia
At the end of 1992, due to irreconcilable tensions without an actual civil war, Czechoslovakia split in two. On the western side is the Czech Republic, while on its eastern border is Slovakia. Both republics are distinct and have their own constitutions.
Right now, America is in a civil war. No weapons are being used, but a war of attrition in the form of ideologies is being waged, and one side is winning. The conflict is like a boxing match. The Republicans are constantly on the ropes and being battered by the Democrats. While the Democrats are continually defiling the Constitution, even the courts are now so corrupt in Democrat areas that they are piling on, as we've seen in the Trump conviction.
Meanwhile, the Republicans go on with, "We don't want to stoop to their level." Somewhere along the line, Republicans don't recognize that politics is a blood sport and you must give as good as you get. However, the bottom line is that the point has been reached where there must be a recognition that the only way to satisfy the disparate groups is to separate into a Western Blue State, an Eastern Blue State, and a Central Red State.
The specifics can be ironed out. Each country can select its own Supreme Court and military and re-allocate financial resources pro-rata according to the population in each entity.
The leftist policies supported overwhelmingly by the Blue states are becoming dangerous. On May 3rd, two illegal immigrants from Jordan, breached the gate and tried to ram the Quantico Marine Corps base in Virginia, which also has a large FBI facility. One of the men was a known terrorist. Thankfully, they were arrested.
On so many levels, two countries live together and have hatred for one another. Below are some of the characteristics of each group. It's not by any means a complete list, but it depicts the split in the country.
The hate is not going away anytime soon, if ever. Just as a relationship reaches a breaking point where there is no longer any commonality to recoup the relationship, the inevitable occurs, and both parties can move on. Americans living in Red America would be so much happier to know they have a government that reflects their values, as would those living in Blue states. The current state is unsustainable and will further weaken America at home and internationally.
Some might say this is capitulation––giving up. Others would say it's the only way forward. To continue on the current path is to keep doing the same thing repeatedly, which we know is a form of insanity.
