The attack on vitamin D started in the 1970s with the villification of the sun. Advising people to slather on sunscreen without compensating for the resultant vitamin D starvation caused the explosion of autoimmune and cardiovascular disease epidemic than has ensued. The immune system “runs” on vitamin D, without adequate amounts the immune system can’t differentiate self from non-self resulting in immune attack on healthy tissue, aka autoimmune disease. The system attacked probably is related to an idiosyncratic genetic weak link. Get your vitamin D optimized to 60-100 ng/ml...around 8000-10,000 IU vitamin D3 per day.

"Missed" or deliberately "blinded"?! I've side my research on vitamin D. In so convinced of its significant value that I'm literally flying somewhere sunnier tomorrow morning, for a few days, just for the purpose of synthesising some of the natural stuff since I am not convinced of the effectiveness of supplementation. Going forward, I only plan to holiday in the winter.
